This May, one of the most divisive issues in society today will be discussed and dissected in a grand debate — and the country’s first all-news and documentary channel on VHF free TV is going to make it happen.
In line with its continuing advocacy to present the most pressing issues of the day, GMA News TV is mounting “Reproductive Health (RH) Bill: The Grand Debate”.
Representatives from the government, religious groups and the women’s sector gather for an impassioned debate on the controversial House Bill Number 4244 or the “Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health and Population Development Act of 2011″, otherwise known as the Reproductive Health (RH) Bill.
Pitting lawmakers versus lawmakers, women versus women and church versus church, the debate will present and tackle the pros and cons of the RH Bill with representatives from opposing camps defending their side on every motion. The special aims to educate the general public and satisfy their need for information about this issue.
Aside from the debate happening on the program, the public can also participate in an online debate on Twitter by sharing their opinions using the hash tags #proRH or #antiRH and by visiting www.gmanews.tv.
“RH Bill: The Grand Debate” is hosted by respected broadcast journalist Mel Tiangco and assisted by GMA News TV personalities, Pia Arcangel and RJ Ledesma, the two being former debaters in their college days.

Well, it would be a grand debate and its good for anti RH Bill advocates. Hopefully many eyes will be open. Many are blindly supporting RH Bill. Many of my friends supported it but when they heard the side of the Catholic Church. They are now advocating against it. Sadly, the pro-RH bill have a lot of money to promote it. The anti RH Bill advocates dont have enough resources. We rely only on the power of prayer…
rh bill is a good bill that the legislative create,I supported the RH bill,coz i think it na makakatulong ito sa atin,sa pag unlad ng ating bansa,coz kita nmn natin diba?over populated na ang pilipinas?wala mamawala sa atin kpg ma approved na ang RH BILL instead,may naidudulot pa itong kabutihan
tingnan ninyo huh’sa isang pamilya kpg may family planning mas maginhawa,fair sa lahat ng bagay kung ano meron sa isa meron sa lahat hindi katulad ng walang pakokontrol sa pamilya,they are lacking of food,lack of space,lack of education,magulo,theirs a big mis understanding happen dahil hndi sapat ang kita nito.
dahil sa patuloy na pglaki ng population patuloy din nating nararanasan ang kahirapan.
even though all of us were against to this bill….
we cant hide the truth that the time will come this would be soon implemented….
im not against or pro to this bill because i believe that a coin has always two sides the head and the tail….
