What is the ANCOP Global walk?
The ANCOP Global Walk is a fundraising event of the CFC ANCOP Tekton Foundation (ANCOP) to raise funds to help provide education to children from poor families through the ANCOP Child Sponsorship Program. The walk will be held simultaneously in various major cities across the globe, with Metro Manila, Philippines as its main walk venue.
When is the ANCOP Global Walk?
For the Philippines, it is on Sunday, August 21, 2011. Gun start is at 5:00 AM.For countries outside the Philippines, please check with your local CFC ANCOP teams.
Where will the ANCOP global walk be held?
  • For Metro Manila, Philippines, the walk will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds, Pasay City.
  • For  Provinces in the Philippines, lease see the ANCOP Walk Locations.
  • For other Countries, kindly refer to your local ANCOP team.
How can I help?
You can help by simply supporting  our cause.  Just register for the Walk with a minimum donation of Php300.00. Each participant is entitled to a Walker’s Kit which contains your bib and a walk map, among others.
Who can take part in the ANCOP Global Walk?
The walk is open to everyone. As long as you’re up for the challenge and willing to raise your sponsorship target, then this is for you! Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.
If I am not a member of Couples For Christ or any of it’s Family ministries, can I still join?
Of course! Our work with the poor is not limited to CFC or its Ministries. Everyone is welcome to walk for a scholar!
Where will the donations go to?
One very special thing about ANCOP Global Walk is that the money you raise will support a particular ANCOP Community or project that provides shelter to the poorest of the poor as well as for the Child Sponsorship Program (through Educational Assistance). If you belong to a particular group or association, you can pool together all the donations collected and start to build a new ANCOP community that can be named after your association or sponsor a group of children.
Can I walk as part of a group or organization?
Yes, walking as a group or with your organization is encouraged. This will help you jump start your target. The entire group can also set targets to raise money and sponsor an entire community. The community can be named after your group or association’s name. Speak to any ANCOP representative or go to www.cfcancop.org for more details in sponsoring a community or a scholar. You can carry your own (association or group) banner during the walk to help identify and recognize your group.

Youth gangsters became educated teens. Filthy slum kids practised proper hygiene. All these because of the modest-turned-CNN award-winning “Kariton Klasrum” by Efren Penaflorida, Jr.

Efren, or “Kuya Ef” is the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year. In his character, the whole world has seen that even the poor can make a huge difference in society. Efren is one of the many Filipino youths who belonged to a family with difficult economic circumstances. Who would have thought that he would become one of the founders of the Dynamic Teen Company (DTC), the creator of the “Kariton Klasrum”

The “Kariton Klasrum” is an alternative means to educate poor children in slums about basic hygiene and values formation. The ‘Kariton’ is literally a wooden push cart that strolls around the slums to cater to children of the poor. It is loaded with books, pens and paper, and other school materials that aid in teaching unschooled and labor-exploited youths. The project has also reached out to give first-aid treatments and feeding programs to these children to complete its core mission of: K4 – Kariton, Klasrum, Klinik at Kantin. Because of the “Kariton Klasrum”, both younger and teen-aged youths from the slum recognized their dignity as any child with human rights.

DTC was founded in August 1997 with just one push cart launched in Cavite by four teen-agers of Cavite National High School. Currently, President Gloria Arroyo has ordered the Department of Education to look into the “Kariton Klasrum” model as an alternative to conventional teaching.
